About Us
Kinsale Music Academy, established in 2011, is an independently run music institute. We
provide high quality music education for the town of Kinsale and its surrounding area. We operate in five local schools and centres, providing individual instrumental tuition, group classes and ensemble music making. Tuition is provided by highly qualified teachers in a range of instruments and styles for all ages and levels of ability. Our teachers are highly trained, experienced and enthusiastic musicians who are actively involved in various aspects of the music scene nationwide.
Our services include
- Individual one-to-one instrumental tuition in a wide range of instruments and styles.
- Beginner pre-instrumental classes
- Group instrumental classes
- Ensembles – Junior Orchestra and Youth Choir
- Grade examinations facilitated through internationally recognised boards – Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM), Royal Irish Academy of Music (RIAM) and Trinity College of London (TLC).
- The opportunity and guidance to compete in competitions, to perform publicly and to
- Prepare for auditions/entrance examinations for specialised music courses.
- A 9 month rental scheme for certain instruments – violin, guitar and ukulele.
We are the foremost music education facility in the Kinsale area to provide such a wide
range of options in terms of musical learning – instruments, ensembles, choice of teachers,choice of examinations, instrument rental schemes and the opportunity to perform publicly. We accommodate students and parents to the very best of our ability when timetabling lessons, taking into account their school timetable and extra-curricular activities, as well as providing personal, individual feedback regarding progress throughout the year.
