John Boyle – Guitar
John Boyle has been playing and teaching guitar professionally for many years. He attended the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance in London where he graduated with the ‘Best Guitar Student’ award. He has studied privately with many great teachers including Martin Taylor, Jimmy Bruno, Adam Goldsmith and Dario Cortese. He holds a first class honours MA in jazz performance from the CIT Cork School of Music and has performed all over the UK and Ireland in musicals, big bands, cabaret shows and original acts. As a studio musician John has played on a variety of recordings for clients including RTE, Cork Opera House, The Helix and The Olympia Theatre.
As a teacher John has taught at a variety of standards and levels from beginner right through to degree level in every style from pop and rock to jazz and metal. As well as teaching at Kinsale Music Academy, John has been a member of staff in institutes including UCC and CIT Academy of Popular Music. He specialises in a variety of styles on both electric and acoustic guitar, as well as teaching improvisation, theory and musicianship.
John is also band leader and guitarist with The Aristocrats wedding band – one of the most popular and high profile function bands in Cork and Munster.
